Going green is a responsible thing to do and it is not a fad. Industry experts say that buyers should expect to pay a premium for going green. Why is that? Let's look at some of the reasons why they are right and what we can do about it.

- "Green products cost more because green raw materials cost more" - This is usually the case with any new material or product. Initially, at least until free market competition takes over. Or until we as a country reach a critical mass where natural or recycled materials usage surpasses that of PVC based products.
Here are ways that together we can help keep costs down:
- We waste a minimum amount of material. We price our product based on the usage of the entire width and length. You can help by planning your project to make efficient use of material.
- It is essential to plan the project to print on these new materials. The end product will be stunning, if and only if, the project is designed for the material we use. You can help by utilizing our graphic designers. They are learning more and more about eco-friendly materials every day.
- Most materials that we use are lighter weight. They're less costly to ship in and to ship out. There is inherent savings in using lighter weight green products.

Our industry is coming alive and realizing that we are producing millions of tons of PVC (vinyl) each year that ends up in the landfill. Whether you believe in global warming or not you will agree with us that our quality ground water is a very precious necessity. That is what motivates us to take a critical review of products on the market and select the most practical environmentally friendly products that we can find.
We have a chemical engineer on our staff and while it is always possible that we will under-rate or over-rate a particular product offering, we try to be fair. There are various shades of green.
When one of our potential suppliers offers a product that is green but tries to take too much green out of your bank account, then we have an obligation to go to the second best. Practical Green allows our customers to be as earth friendly as they can afford with the knowledge of the trade-offs.
Our industry has spent decades developing materials and chemicals that take longer to break down. Earth friendlier product is designed to break down as quickly as possible after it is no longer needed. We do not claim to be earth friendly. Every manufacturer produces product that the earth has to deal with.
We are continuously learning, debunking some claims and calling suppliers on charging a large premium for their "green materials." We want our clients to not only feel good about their purchase, we want them to select the best product to achieve their goal, solve a problem or satisfy their need.
